End of An Era
I stood in a long line on an extremely hot June afternoon, waiting for the original iPhone. I got into the line around 2 and waited until the store opened at 6. I finally was allowed in around 6:30 or so and was one of the lucky ones. It was an amazing piece of hardware / software.
I haven’t upgraded to any of the new versions, always having the original one. No real reason for me to do this other than laziness, uncertainty about staying with AT&T and always waiting for the next ‘One More Thing.’ But all good things must come to an end. Last night I dropped the phone one too many times it seems and the home button would no longer work, plus the power cord wouldn’t go in all the way so no recharging.
It was time.
This morning, I headed back to the same AT&T store and in the span of 30 minutes, had a new iPhone 4. I came back home, plugged it into iTunes and soon I had everything back the way I wanted it. It truly is a pretty amazing world.
